AIS-AFL Academy - Clem Smith
The AIS-AFL Academy Squad have recently arrived back after a 10 day tour of New Zealand which culminated in a game against the NZ Hawks over the Australia Day weekend.
Game day presented perfect weather conditions and the Westpac Stadium ground in Wellington was presented in the best condition possible.
At the end of the first quarter the score was 1 behind to 43 and it looked like it was going to be a long day for the Hawks, but early exuberance from the young AIS team and some regrouping from the Hawks meant the rest of the game was a lot closer.
Clem Smith played the whole game and was a driving force out of the middle and played a defensive role while resting.
Smith continues to impress, being named third best for the AIS-AFL Team and will be one to keep an eye on as the season unfolds.
The AIS-AFL Academy got up 16-5 101 to the NZ Hawks 7-16 58.
