Perth Demons v Subiaco Lions Preview
Written By: Andrew Owen
This weekend Perth Football Club welcomes the Subiaco Football Club to Brownes Stadium for Round 17 of the 2013 AAMI WAFL Premiership Season. It should be an exciting day of football and we look forward to seeing as many Demon supporters here as possible.
Colts 9:00am
Last week Perth defeated Swan Districts by 43-points to now only sit percentage outside the top four, while Subiaco beat East Fremantle by 29-points.
The last time these two teams met was in was in Round 9, with the Lions winning that match by 37-points.
This game is sure to go down to the wire with a Perth win seeing them overtake East Fremantle who are fourth on the table and Subiaco looking to jump South Fremantle who are in second position.
Reserves 11:30am
The Reserves almost let a 33-point half time lead slip last week but were able to hold off a determined Swan Districts team to win by 3-points and claim their tenth win of the season. Subiaco and East Fremantle couldn’t be spilt last week with both teams registering scores of 83.
Last time these two teams met Perth came from behind to defeat the Lions by 16-points.
Perth has regained their one game advantage at the top of the ladder while Subiaco are sitting in fifth position, two games outside the top four and will be looking for a win to keep their finals hopes alive.
League 2:05pm
It was a dark day for the Demons last week, comprehensively beaten by Swan Districts to the tune of 89-points and for the first time this year dropping out of the top four.
Subiaco were dealt a similar blow when they were thrashed by East Fremantle last Saturday to the tune of 66-points.
In the previous match involving these two teams, five unanswered goals to the Demons in the last quarter saw them defeat the Lions by 25-points.
Perth will be looking for an improved showing this week against Subiaco, with a win seeing them regain their spot inside the top four.
