Sharon’s achievements have been widely recognised across the civil and mining industries. She was awarded Women in Civil by the Civil Contractors Federation, nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year, and named Businesswoman of the Year at the Belmont Small Business Awards. Importantly, Sharon has consistently used her success as a platform to create opportunities for others. She established the Women in Civil committee and mentoring programs and, for more than 15 years, Kais Hire has been a major sponsor of the Women in Civil program and mentoring campaign, supporting leadership development and diversity across the industry.
Her commitment to community is long standing and deeply personal. Sharon has been a dedicated supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities for more than 15 years and served on the board for the New House Campaign for the Home Away from Home facility in Nedlands. Under her leadership and support, Kais Hire has been a major sponsor of the annual ball and various rooms within the house, helping provide vital support to families during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Sharon is defined by trust, loyalty, respect, and integrity. She approaches every challenge with passion, enthusiasm, and an ability to make things happen. These qualities have been central to the success of her business and will be invaluable at Board level as the Club continues to strengthen its governance, financial position, and long term sustainability.

Rick brings an outstanding depth of leadership, governance, and public sector experience to the Board, with more than three decades of service across justice, emergency management, policing, and the broader government sector. He is a highly respected senior executive with a proven track record of leading complex reform, managing risk in high pressure environments, and delivering outcomes that have long term community impact.
Rick currently serves as Deputy Commissioner Young People within the Department of Justice, where he is leading significant reform of youth justice within Corrective Services. This work involves navigating complex policy environments, balancing community safety with rehabilitation outcomes, and driving systemic change across large and multifaceted organisations. His leadership in this space reflects strong strategic judgement, accountability, and a deep understanding of governance at scale.
Previously, Rick held senior executive roles within the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, where he led major reform initiatives and was responsible for state and regional level response and recovery across more than 50 major emergencies. These roles required decisive leadership, collaboration across government and non-government agencies, and the ability to operate calmly and effectively in critical situations. His experience in crisis management and large-scale coordination brings a valuable perspective to Board level decision making.
Rick holds a Master of Business Administration, a Graduate Certificate of Applied Management, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In addition, Rick has substantial experience in large government infrastructure projects, with direct involvement in initiatives ranging from 30 million to 250 million. His understanding of public private partnerships, governance frameworks, and long term infrastructure planning will be a significant asset as the Club continues to progress major facility and redevelopment projects.
Rick is widely regarded for his professionalism, integrity, and ability to lead through complexity. His experience, networks, and strategic capability will add considerable strength to the Board as the Club continues to focus on sustainability, strong governance, and long term success.
We congratulate Rick on his successful election and warmly welcome him to the Board of the Perth Football Club.
