Over the last two weeks of May, the Perth Football Club proudly hosted the Bachar Houli Cup through their partnership with WA Football at Mineral Resources Park – a fantastic celebration of diversity, community, and youth football.

The Boys Carnival saw 153 students from six Perth-based Islamic schools compete in a spirited day of football. After a series of competitive matchups, AIC Kewdale emerged victorious, showcasing outstanding skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The following week, the spotlight shifted to the Girls Carnival, which welcomed 174 participants from over 60 different nationalities. The level of enthusiasm and talent on display was inspiring, with AIC Kewdale once again taking top honours, going undefeated and completing a clean sweep across both carnivals.
Participating schools included AIC Kewdale, Al-Ameen College – Langford, and Al-Hidayah Islamic School, who made their debut appearance this year. The Perth Football Club is incredibly proud to support the Bachar Houli Foundation through their partnership with WA Football, which continues to empower young Muslim Australians through AFL, leadership, and education.
We thank all players, teachers, volunteers, and families who helped make the Bachar Houli Cup a memorable event. A huge thank you to WA Football for organising and running the event! We look forward to continuing our role in creating inclusive, welcoming, and empowering experiences for all communities through football.
A special thank you to our Inclusion and Diversity Partner, Fugro, for their ongoing support of the Club. Their commitment enables us to support programs like the Bachar Houli Cup and champion a culture of inclusion across our community.
