Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFLW vs Peel

Round 12, WAFLW | June 20, 2026

Perth produced its most dominant performance of the season on Saturday, overpowering Peel Thunder by 84 points at Mineral Resources Park in a four quarter display of relentless pressure and attacking football.

The Demons controlled the contest from the opening bounce, winning the ball around stoppages, moving it with purpose, and capitalising on their opportunities inside 50 to record a convincing victory.

The standout performance belonged to Isabella Shannon, who was deservedly named Player of the Match after an outstanding afternoon playing off half forward. Shannon amassed 30 disposals, 5 inside 50s and booted an incredible 6 goals, proving almost impossible to contain as she impacted both in transition and on the scoreboard.

The midfield was equally impressive, led by Isla Baldwin, who continued her outstanding form with 32 disposals and a remarkable 12 tackles. Alyssa Smogavec (27 disposals, 6 tackles) and Holly Britton (25 disposals) provided plenty of drive through the middle, helping Perth control territory for much of the day.

In the ruck, Molly Warne gave the midfield first use all afternoon, finishing with 33 hit-outs, while Shannon Bistrup provided valuable support with 18 hit-outs when called upon.

Perth’s forwards made the most of their opportunities, with Lauren Davey adding 4 goals in a lively display, while Katelyn Cox finished with 3 majors. The spread of contributors ensured Peel’s defence was under constant pressure throughout the afternoon.

Behind the ball, the Demons remained disciplined and composed, limiting Peel’s opportunities while transitioning the ball efficiently into attack. The side’s defensive pressure was another highlight, laying 59 tackles and forcing repeated turnovers that fuelled their scoring.

It was a complete team performance and an important percentage boosting win as the Demons continue to build momentum heading into the closing rounds of the WAFLW season.

Next up: Perth returns to Mineral Resources Park next Saturday to take on South Fremantle, looking to continue its strong run of form.
