Boorloo Football Club produced one of its most memorable wins of the season on Saturday, edging East Fremantle by three points at Mineral Resources Park after a dramatic finish that had the home crowd on its feet.
Trailing by 11 points at the final change, Boorloo refused to go away. A relentless final-quarter surge set the stage for a thrilling finish before Oscar Hine-Baston calmly slotted the match-winning set shot after the siren, sealing a famous 10.6 (66) to 9.9 (63) victory.
The comeback was built from the backline, where Trademark Player Charlie Dean delivered a best-on-ground performance at full back. Dean was outstanding all afternoon, finishing with 23 disposals, 14 marks and an incredible seven intercept marks, repeatedly cutting off East Fremantle attacks and launching Boorloo back into the contest.
The defensive unit stood tall throughout the day, with Matthew Taylor (18 disposals), Baxter Philip (16 disposals, eight marks) and Jake Watson (15 disposals) providing strong support behind the ball as Boorloo weathered sustained pressure before turning the game in the final term.
Through the midfield, Brandan Parfitt continued his excellent season with 23 disposals, five tackles and a goal, while Charlie Constable gathered 22 disposals and five tackles.
