Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFL vs Peel Thunder

Round 3, WAFL League | April 18, 2026

It was a genuine nail biter at Lane Group Stadium, with the boys holding on for a thrilling one point win over Peel Thunder in a game that went right down to the final moments.

With the pressure at its peak late in the last quarter, it was Cooper Moore who delivered one of the biggest moments of the day, slotting a clutch goal just before the siren to put us in front and ultimately secure the win.

Up forward, Jack Kluske was a constant threat, finishing with an outstanding four goal performance and providing a reliable target inside 50. His ability to capitalise on opportunities proved crucial in such a tight contest.

Through the midfield, Austin Davis (25 disposals), Matthew Taylor (23), and Corey Byrne (21) worked tirelessly to keep us in the game, winning their share of the ball and helping drive us forward throughout the day. Around the contest, the pressure was evident, with the group laying strong tackles and refusing to give Peel easy possession.

Down back, Charlie Dean and Elijah Scoble were outstanding, particularly in the air. Both finished with seven marks, consistently intercepting Peel’s forward entries and helping to halt momentum at critical stages of the game. Their ability to read the play and win those aerial contests was vital, especially in the tense final quarter.

It wasn’t a perfect performance, but it was one built on resilience, effort, and stepping up in big moments, something that proved the difference in the end.

Next up: We take on East Perth at Mineral Resources Park for ANZAC Round.
