Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFL vs East Perth

Round 4, WAFL League | April 25, 2026

It was a tight ANZAC Round contest at Mineral Resources Park, with the boys falling just five points short against East Perth in a hard fought battle. The result sees East Perth take possession of the Greg Brehaut Shield.

In a game where momentum swung throughout, we were right in the contest all day but couldn’t quite capitalise when it mattered most.

Through the midfield, Charlie Constable led the way with a dominant 33 disposals, while Matthew Taylor (28) and Corey Byrne (21) provided strong support around the contest. Austin Davis (17 disposals, 6 inside 50s) also worked hard to drive the ball forward and give us opportunities in attack.

Joshua Edwards was outstanding and deservedly recognised as our Trademark Player. He finished with 15 disposals, a game high 8 tackles, and 19 hitouts, bringing relentless pressure and physicality around the contest.

Up forward, Aaron Clarke was one of our main threats, finishing with 3 goals.

Defensively, the group held up well under pressure. Charlie Dean (11 disposals) and Elijah Scoble (12 disposals, 7 marks) were strong in the air, helping to intercept and slow East Perth’s momentum at key stages.

As a team, we recorded 294 disposals and laid 55 tackles, showing our intent and ability to stay in the fight. However, missed opportunities in front of goal proved costly in such a tight contest.

While it’s a frustrating result, there’s plenty to take away from a performance that showed we can match it with strong opposition across four quarters.

Next up: We take on East Fremantle at Good Grocer Park.
