Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFL vs East Fremantle

Round 5, WAFL League | May 2, 2026

It was a strong response from the boys on Saturday, coming away with a 31 point win over East Fremantle at The Good Grocer Park.

After a competitive start, we were able to build into the game and take control through the middle, with our ball movement and pressure around the contest proving the difference across four quarters.

Leading the way was Archer Gardiner, who was outstanding and deservedly named our Trademark Player. He finished with 19 disposals and 6 tackles, bringing great intensity and impact around the ball.

The midfield group was dominant throughout the day, with Charlie Constable putting together a huge performance with 38 disposals, while Brendan Parfitt (31 disposals, 8 tackles) and Corey Byrne (26 disposals) provided strong support and drive. Matthew Taylor also continued his consistent form with 25 disposals and 8 marks.

Around the ground, there were important contributions on both sides of the ball. Charlie Dean worked hard to provide structure and presence, finishing with 21 disposals and 9 marks, while Noah Cachard (17 disposals) and Oscar Hine-Baston (17 disposals) linked up well in transition.

Up forward, we were able to make the most of our opportunities, with multiple contributors hitting the scoreboard. Kane Johnston finished with 2 goals, while Aaron Clarke, Joshua Edwards, and Archer Gardiner all added majors to keep the pressure on.

Defensively, the group held firm when required, with strong contest work and the ability to win the ball back helping limit East Fremantle’s scoring opportunities.

It was a well rounded performance built on effort, pressure, and consistency across the day, an encouraging step forward as the season builds.

Next up: We take on Claremont at Mineral Resources Park.
