Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFLW vs Subiaco
Round 2, WAFLW | April 3, 2026
Perth Football Club’s WAFLW side faced a tough start to the 2026 season, going down to Subiaco in their opening clash.
Despite the result, there were some solid individual efforts across the ground. Isabella Shannon led the way with a team-high 27 disposals, adding 4 tackles and 5 inside 50s, while continuing to provide drive through the midfield.
She was well supported by Alyssa Smogavec (19 disposals, 8 marks) and Amy Trindade (18 disposals, 5 tackles, 5 inside 50s, 1 goal), who worked hard to link up play and create forward movement.
Defensively, Perth showed resilience under pressure for large periods. Katelyn Cox set the standard with 7 tackles to go with 11 disposals, while Holly Britton (14 disposals, 5 tackles) and Caitlyn Edwards (12 disposals, 4 tackles) battled strongly.
In the ruck, Molly Warne competed well with 25 hit outs, giving the midfield first use at stoppages.
While the Demons were able to move the ball into attacking areas at times, they were unable to convert on the scoreboard, with Subiaco capitalising more effectively on their opportunities.
Although the result wasn’t what Perth was after, the effort and intent around the contest provides a foundation to build on as the group looks to respond in the coming rounds.
