Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFLW vs Peel Thunder
Round 4, WAFLW | April 18, 2026
It was a strong four quarter performance from our WAFLW side, coming away with a well earned win over Peel Thunder at Lane Group Stadium.
After a tight start, the girls built into the contest with their pressure and work rate around the ball proving a key factor. Isla Baldwin led the way with a standout performance, collecting 26 disposals and applying an impressive 8 tackles to set the tone through the midfield. She was well supported by Isabella Shannon (25 disposals, 5 inside 50s), who once again provided class and drive going forward.
Across the ground, the midfield group worked cohesively, with Holly Britton (22 disposals), Amy Trindade (22), and Alyssa Smogavec (20) all contributing strongly. The pressure was consistent throughout the day, highlighted by Lauren Davey and Alyssa Smogavec’s 8 tackles and several players finishing with four or more, helping to limit Peel’s ability to move the ball cleanly.
There were also important contributions in front of goal, with multiple players hitting the scoreboard, both Taya Strickland and Amber Wyatt finishing with 2 each. The team’s ability to generate repeat inside 50s kept the pressure on.
Overall, it was a well rounded team performance built on effort, pressure, and consistency across all four quarters, an encouraging step forward as the season builds.
Next up: We take on Swan Districts at Mineral Resources Park on Friday, April 24.
