Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFLW vs Swan Districts

Round 5, WAFLW | April 24, 2026
It was a tough Friday night outing at Mineral Resources Park, with our WAFLW side falling short against Swan Districts.

Despite the result, there were strong efforts across the ground, particularly through the midfield. Isabella Shannon continued her impressive form, leading the way with 27 disposals, 7 tackles, and 5 inside 50s to provide consistent drive and intensity around the contest. She was well supported by Holly Britton and Alyssa Smogavec, who both finished with 19 disposals, with Smogavec also applying strong defensive pressure with 6 tackles.

Poppy Stockwell was influential, collecting 19 disposals and hitting the scoreboard. In the ruck, Molly Warne competed strongly, giving our midfield first use and working hard around the stoppages throughout the night. Behind the ball, Addison Opalinski stood out with a strong defensive performance, taking 7 marks, including several important intercept marks, to help repel Swan Districts’ forward entries.

As a team, the effort was evident with 74 tackles laid, highlighting the group’s intent to apply pressure and stay in the contest. However, we weren’t able to capitalise on our opportunities going forward, finishing with just one goal for the match.

While the result didn’t go our way, there are still positives to take from the performance, particularly the work rate and pressure applied across four quarters.

Next up: We take on East Fremantle at Good Grocer Park on Friday, May 1.
