Match Report: Perth Football Club WAFLW vs East Fremantle
Round 6, WAFLW | May 1, 2026
It was a tough Friday night at The Good Grocer Park for our WAFLW side, going down to East Fremantle in Round 6.
Despite the result, there were some strong individual performances, led by Isla Baldwin, who was outstanding and deservedly named Player of the Match. Baldwin finished with an impressive 29 disposals and a game high 11 tackles, setting the tone with her work rate and physicality around the contest.
She was well supported through the midfield by Isabella Shannon, who collected 28 disposals, 7 tackles, and 7 marks, continuing her consistent run of form. Holly Britton also had an impact with 24 disposals and 8 tackles, helping to keep us competitive through the middle.
Across the ground, the effort was there, particularly in our pressure. The group laid strong tackles and showed a willingness to compete, even when momentum wasn’t going our way. Alyssa Smogavec added 15 disposals and 6 tackles, while Robin Walsh contributed 6 tackles in a solid defensive effort.
In the ruck, Molly Warne worked hard all night, finishing with 38 hitouts to give our midfielders first use at stoppages.
While we were able to find the ball and compete around the contest, we struggled to convert our opportunities going forward, which ultimately proved costly against a strong showing from the East Fremantle side.
There are still positives to take from the performance, particularly the effort and intensity shown across four quarters, as we continue to build.
Next up: We take on East Perth at Mineral Resources Park on Sunday, May 10.
