Hawthorn Legends Lunch a great success
Over 130 guests filled Lathlain Park's Main Hall on Friday afternoon to enjoy one of the better luncheons the football club has hosted in recent years.
Old teammates Sam Mitchell and Chance Bateman joined Perth CEO and Master of Ceremonies Marty Atkins on stage to kick things off, answering questions from Atkins and providing fascinating insights into their lives to date.
They each touched on their childhood, their playing careers as well as life after football, imparting the many lessons they've learned along the way on those in the room.
Guests then enjoyed an English buffet lunch, before Robert 'Dipper' DiPierdomenico addressed the function for just under an hour.
Dipper told stories from his Italian influenced upbringing, illustrious playing days and post football career, often having the entire room in hysterics.
Following his address, the five time premiership Hawk auctioned off several items, had photos taken with guests and signed autographs.
The day also raised awareness of Outside The Locker Room, an organisation aimed at equipping adolescent boys and girls and young adults, along with their parents, families and communities, with the information and resources to better enable them to tackle the increasing number of social and mental health issues in a productive and not destructive way. The Club wishes to thank all guests who attended and made the lunch a highly successful one.
