Round 12 Match Review v West Perth
After successful matches in the two previous rounds, the Demons went into Round 12 looking to continue the impressive momentum which had been building.
A slow start to the game was overcome by a strong second half of the first quarter. At the close of the first quarter, we held the lead 4.2 to West Perth’s 3.3.
A flailing second quarter saw West Perth kick eight goals to our two, establishing a match winning break. Despite the Demons continuing to challenge at various stages of the game, West Perth maintained the lead for the rest of the afternoon and went on to win by 21 points.
Captain Clint Jones led the way for Perth with 36 possessions, with Michael Sinclair collecting 31 disposals, Brant Colledge 28, Corey Yeo 25, Cody Leggett 24 and Matthew Taylor 22.
Excitement machine Bennell kicked another three goals, as did Kristian Cary, while Laine Wilkins chipped in with two. Jones, Byrne and Scotney each contributed a goal.
