Bob Shields elected as Club President
The votes are in, and the Perth Football Club members have voted Bob Shields as President.
Joining Bob on the Perth Football Club Board are re-elected members Mark Treasure, Wayne Smith and Troy Cook, and new addition Kerrie-Ann Pendal.
A Letter from Incoming President Bob Shields
Dear Members, Supporters, Partners and Sponsors,
My name is Bob Shields, and I am pleased to inform you that I have been elected to serve as President of the Perth Football Club. I would like to thank you for your support and I look forward to all of us working together to make PFC once again a powerful WAFL Club, as we have been for most of our Club’s 120-year history.
My role as new President will be to rebuild the Club's business model as a leaner, fitter 21st-Century Football Club. Simply put, our off-field operations and the PFC's standing will lift over the next two-to-five years, which will lead to quality players wanting to join us, strengthening our playing roster.
My other job will be to identify a quality person about thirty years younger than me as the next PFC President.
In my first act as Perth Football Club President, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that after two years Clint Jones has chosen to step aside as Club Captain. I would now like to introduce you to our new 2019 Captain and Leadership Group.
The squad and coaching staff have elected Corey Yeo, Lachlan Dennis, Christian Eyres, Cody Leggett, Brant Colledge, Michael Sinclair and Mitch Henderson as the Leadership group. From that, Corey Yeo has been nominated as our 2019 Club Captain.
In our 120th Anniversary Year, the Club will be celebrating the people who have contributed to our Club’s success. This year will begin with our 120th Anniversary Celebration on the afternoon of 31 March, 2019. The Club will make tickets available early next week. I would like to invite all members to attend this event. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
Thank you again for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Bob Shields
President
Perth Football Club
