Perth Football Club Support Footy for All
When the call went out from Fair Game that more second-hand footballs were needed to meet demand for the new season in regional and remote communities across WA, Perth Football Club were pleased to be able to contribute 30 footballs to this great cause. The footies may have seen lots of action, but still plenty of life in them yet.
Fair Game is a Perth based charity that collects pre-loved sports equipment to donate to regional, remote and underserviced communities to increase access to sports.
Laura Pugh who has volunteered with Fair Game since 2013 and has been an AFLW player for Fremantle Dockers for the last two years, took advantage of an afternoon off training to come and collect them.
“AFL footies are one of our most frequently requested items and at this time of year with the new season looming, we struggle to meet demand, so we were thrilled to hear Perth Football Club could help us out. These footballs will go to communities right across WA from the Wheatbelt as far as the Kimberley.” said Laura.
“The great thing about footy is that everyone can enjoy kicking a footy around whether it’s on the red dust of the Kimberley or the green grass of your local park. You don’t need to have a whole team and an oval to practice your skills and have fun, you just need a footy!”
“We were delighted to be able to support Fair Game and put these footballs that we can no longer use to good use, giving as many people as possible a chance to enjoy playing footy.” commented Dale Ballantyne, Football Operations Manager at Perth Football Club.
