Star Demon Departs For Career Opportunity
The Perth Football Club can confirm that Brady Grey will depart to uptake a significant opportunity to work for the Hawthorn Football Club.
Brady has played an important role for the Perth Football Club as a midfielder in our league team, as well as playing a vital role as Aboriginal Engagement Officer.
On-field Brady was an integral part of our 2020 finals campaign, subsequently achieving a 4th place finish in the 2020 Butcher Medal. He was also a valued member of our leadership group in 2021.
The Perth Football Club, which sits on Whadjuk Noongar land recognises the importance of working closely with and seeking guidance from Indigenous communities. Whilst in the role of Aboriginal Engagement Officer, Brady made the following contributions:
- Helped to develop our first Reconciliation Action Plan
- Established the club’s involvement in NAIDOC round
- Worked collaboratively with the Hungry Jack’s Community Engagement Manager to develop our strong relationship with our metro and regional communities
- Played a key role in supporting our indigenous players
CEO Russ Clark said, “Brady’s work at the club included the development of the 2021 NAIDOC Jumper that was proudly designed by Sam Stubbs and represented our 9 indigenous senior players and their respective tribes. Brady also organised Cultural Awareness training facilitated by Jade and Phil Narkle as the first WAFL Club to do so since Phil’s appointment at the WAFC.”
Whilst Brady’s departure is seen as a significant loss to the Perth Football Club, we are proud to have supported and provided Brady with a role which helped to develop his professional career. We congratulate him on his appointment and wish him all the best for his future endeavors.
Meanwhile, Perth will begin the process to appoint replacements on and off-field immediately as we look forward to having a strong season in 2022.
