Inaugural Jumper Presentation- PFC Girl’s Academy
To introduce the inaugural Perth Football Club Girl’s Academy, a jumper presentation was held in the Lathlain Oval Function Centre this past Sunday. There was much excitement and anticipation, as this is the first year of the Perth Football Clubs girl’s junior development program.
MC Kelly Townson (Board-member) shared how this is a very exciting new era for the Perth Football Club.
Dean White from Diamond Fitness spoke of the importance of Strength & Conditioning for athletes. Diamond Fitness is providing a program for the academy, which will aim to build the fitness and strength of the girls, assisting them in being physically prepared to play football at a higher level.
Special guest, Emma O’Driscoll (Fremantle Dockers) shared her AFLW journey and how her hard work and dedication resulted in being drafted to the Fremantle Dockers in 2019.
Russ Clark, Perth Football Club’s CEO was in attendance and spoke about the importance of this next step for the club. Other notable attendees included Elly Lambkin, WAFC Talent Specialist; Garry Moss, PFC League Coach; Gavin Outridge, Academy coach; along with Club Captain, Fraser McInnes and Colts Captain, Ben Fairbank; who all shared their encouraging outlooks surrounding the addition of the PFC Girl’s Academy.
Full of smiles, the girls received their jumpers to celebrate their official induction into the PFC Girl’s Academy.
The presentation highlights the beginning of a bright and positive future for women’s football at Perth Football Club.
