Round 14 Colts Match Report
The Demons were at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday hosting second place Peel thunder. Oliver Zolnier – Owens got Perth off to a flying start with a nice set shot to give them the first goal of the game. Peel thunder hit back with 2 of their own goals. As the rain came down the lights were turned on and it was a real contest ahead of us. The Dees were down by 6 points at the first break.
Peel hit the scoreboard early with a quick goal but with Tyrese Warrell and Michael Hall working together up forward they were able to bring the margin back to 5 points before the main break.
Sam Cameron and Jack Poole were working hard inside while Oliver Zolnier - Owens and Michael Hall looked dangerous up forward.
Michael Hall was able to put Perth up by 1 early in the 3rd quarter with a crafty goal. Peel thunder was able to kick back, putting them up by 13 mid-way through the 3rd quarter. Campbell Duff was able to snag a goal on the goal line but again peel thunder hit back. Perth demons down by 20 at the last break.
Michael Hall and Tyrese Warrell were able to work their magic again and both kick much-needed goals for the demons. Perth was down by 7 points with 15 minutes to go. A very unlucky 50m was called against Perth and Peel was back up by 13 points. No team was able to hit the scoreboard again.
The best Players for Perth were Jack Poole with 25 touches, 5 tackles and 5 inside 50's and Tyrese Warrell had 20 touches, 8 inside 50’s, and a goal. Peel's best was Nicholas Sarsero with 18 touches, 4 marks, and 6 tackles.
