Perth Football Club Appoint Peter German
FORMER LION IN THE DEMON’S DEN
The Perth Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Peter German as the
club’s new senior coach.
Perth was keen to appoint a successful experienced senior coach and strongly believe German
brings that experience, having previously coached successfully at Subiaco taking the Lions to
premierships in 2004 and 2006 with an 83% success rate.
The experienced coach also spent time as senior coach at Peel Thunder and as an assistant coach at the West Coast Eagles, Fremantle Dockers, Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs.
Perth President Bob Shields said German’s appointment was a watershed moment for the
Perth Football Club.
“I’m thrilled to announce Peter as our new coach”. “After a considered selection process,
Peter’s coaching experience, vision for the future and determination to create a winning
culture at our club made him the preferred candidate for the job”.
German said he was honoured to have the opportunity to coach such a proud club for the
next three years.
“This is an exciting opportunity,” he said.
“In my opinion Perth is the sleeping giant of the West Australian Football League competition
and it’s my job to help this great club play finals and challenge for a premiership”.
“The club is hungry for success and with the massive community support that the Demons
enjoy I can’t wait to see what’s possible at Mineral Resources Park”.
“The club has a new 20-million-dollar facility about to be built so it is the perfect time for fans
of the Redlegs to get behind the club and help return this former powerhouse to the highs of
the magnificent teams of the 60’s and 70’s”.
“I believe in this club and will doing everything in my powers to build a successful culture”.
