The Perth Football Club is proud to announce the appointment of Jessica Sedunary as the new WAFLW League Coach and Manager of Female Football. This dual role not only highlights the Club's commitment to women's football but also marks the launch of its highly anticipated senior women's team in the WAFLW, a historic milestone for the Perth Football Club.

Jessica Sedunary, a former AFLW Premiership player, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game. With a strong background as both a player and a coach, Jessica has been instrumental in advancing women's football across Australia. Her appointment comes at a crucial time as the Club establishes its senior women's team in the WAFLW competition, aligning perfectly with the vision of building a competitive and supportive environment for female athletes.

During her tenure at the Gold Coast Suns, Jessica led the U18 QLD National Team and the Suns Academy team as Senior Coach, achieving an undefeated record in the Coates Talent League Games and securing key victories in the Nationals Series. Her coaching philosophy is centred on fostering a positive environment where players can develop their skills, gain confidence, and excel on the field.

Jessica expressed her enthusiasm about joining the Perth Football Club: “The passion and achievements of the Perth Football Club in the women’s space with their Rogers Program are inspiring and exciting to me. I have been part of two inaugural AFLW programs, so I understand the challenges and the importance of building the right foundation from the team's inception. I am also excited about the opportunities it will create for female players and coaches in WA, which is why I feel a strong connection to the combination of the two roles and to the club.”

The formation of the senior women's team builds on the success of the Perth Football Club's Rogers Cup program and reflects the Club's ongoing commitment to providing pathways for young female athletes. This new team is a natural progression, offering a platform for women to compete at the highest level and inspire future generations of female footballers. The Club is excited to see Jessica lead the team as they prepare to make their mark in the WAFLW.

Club President Adrian Barich said “This is a monumental moment for the Perth Football Club. The addition of a senior women's team completes our club's vision of providing opportunities for every aspiring footballer in our zone. With Jessica's leadership and experience, we are confident that our new WAFLW team will make a significant impact on the league and further cement our commitment to the growth of women's football in Western Australia.”

With Jessica Sedunary’s expertise and leadership, the Club is confident that the senior women’s team will not only compete fiercely on the field but also set a strong example of what can be achieved through dedication, teamwork, and a passion for the game. This new team will serve as an inspiration to young female footballers across our zone, showing them that their dreams of playing at the highest levels in a red and black jumper are now possible.

As the Club prepares for its debut WAFLW season, it welcomes all players, coaches, and community members to join this historic moment.
