SHARKS STEADY AGAINST DEMONS
Perth come back late against the Sharks on Saturday before East Fremantle steadied in the last term to run out winners by 37 points in the final preseason match at Brownes Stadium.
Perth started well early with Full Forward Simon Tunbridge kicking 2 goals in the first quarter before the Sharks midfield led by the returning Brett Peake gained the momentum. Better players for the Demons were Paul Bevan and Alistair Smith who played well through the middle of the ground and were well supported by Daniel O’Sullivan and the ever reliable Brett Hodge.
Dan Murray was again impressive in the ruck and Simon Donovan, Brennan Stack and Tunbridge all chipped in with 2 goals each up forward. Perth’s match committee will be hoping that Tunbridge is cleared of a report during the week for rough play.
Despite the loss the feeling was very upbeat on Saturday night at the club’s season launch with Perth unveiling their new Captain in Paul Bevan and Vice Captain Daniel O’Sullivan for season 2013.
Next week the first week of the new season kicks off with Perth tackling Peel Thunder at Brownes Stadium.
