Family Friendly Football Returns to Lathlain
Family Friendly Football Returns to Lathlain
By Andrew Owen
In 2014 the WAFL along with the Perth Football Club are keen to promote ‘Family Friendly Football’.
This week marks the opening round of the season and besides Perth hosting Claremont, there will be a number of activities for kids to participate in.
Perth CEO Marty Atkins said there would be a strong push for more of a community feel at the football this season.
“The WAFL is all about community. The Perth Football Club in partnership with the Perth District (WAFC), engage many kids through the numerous programs run throughout the year and WAFL match day is just another one of the opportunities to promote football.
“Families attending Lathlain Park this Saturday will be supporting the Demons and the WAFL, but their children will have a whole lot of fun, in a safe family environment.
“There will be a kid’s zone which will have a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon animals and at half time we will see running races. Every child that comes through the gate can fill in a ticket for a major prize which will be drawn at half time.”
And the fun doesn’t stop there with league players giving away footballs before the game and also prizes for the ‘Supporter of the Week’.
So get on down to Lathlain Park this Saturday and bring the family along for what should be a cracking afternoon of WAFL action.
