AFL School Ambassadors Awards Night

Monday, August 4, 2014 - 10:50 PM

On Wednesday the 30th of July, the WAFC held the annual awards dinner for the AFL School Ambassadors Awards.

The night is to recognise the hard work by all school teachers throughout the state who put in tireless work and effort to develop football in Western Australia.

The Demons District was lucky enough to have Desmond Khoo from the Australian Islamic College nominated in the outstanding multicultural ambassador of the year final.  It was a great night, with all finalists being recognised.

As entertainment we were lucky enough to have a Q&A Panel consisting of Chelsea Randall (AFL Women’s Superstar/Swan Districts development officer), Dean Margetts (AFL Umpire and WAFC umpire development manager), Michael Apeness (Fremantle FC Player) and Brandt Colledge (West Coast Eagles Player).  The panel fielded questions from host Steve Mills (6PR) and the crowd.

The night wrapped up with the winners of each category being announced.  Unfortunately Desmond came up just short, but we will be hoping he goes one better next year.  Thanks to all the Demons District stakeholders who attended the night.
