South Perth Primary School Hosts AFL Education Forum

Monday, August 4, 2014 - 10:58 PM

On Thursday the 31st of August the AFL Education Forum was in town for their annual meeting and headed out to South Perth Primary School for a morning of program demonstration.

One of the top AFL School Ambassadors Darryl Mansfield brought the delegates from all states and territories (including AFL Game Development Manager Josh Vanderloo and AFL Education Manager Mark Riddiford) in to show them how we operate in the west.

Darryl spent a good hour explaining his role in footy, and fielding questions from the interested parties. Darryl and District Officer Chris Brown then lead the group out to the oval to help demonstrate Eagles Faction Footy, Freo Footy Skills (i.e Freo Fast Ball, Kwik Kick and Long Bomb).

Everyone was impressed by how well the programs in WA is run and will be sure to take many of the skills learnt back with them to the east.

The kids got to grill the delegates at the end of the session, asking a range of footy related questions.  It was a fantastic morning and we would like to thank South Perth Primary School and Darryl Mansfield for being outstanding contributors to the Demons District and game development in this region.
