New Club Patron Named

Following the recent sad passing of Dr Steve Kargotich, our long standing Club Patron, the Board of Directors have given due consideration to his predecessor. It was unanimously agreed that Peter Gilkison be elected for the role of Club Patron which he has graciously accepted.

A brief history of Peter’s relationship with the Perth Football Club:

1972 – Current: Member of the Perth Football Club

1972 – Current: Sponsor of the Perth Football Club

1976 – Disbanded: Member of the Patrons Club

1981 – Current: Member and Sponsor of the Past Players & Officials Association

1984 - 1990: Chairman of the Banquet Auction Committee (inaugural year 1984)

1985 – 1989: Member of the Board of Directors

1987 – 1989: Vice President of the Perth Football Club

1987 – 1989: Club Representative at the Presidents Council

2005 – 2014: Vice Patron

2008 – Current: Trustee of the Centurion Fund

2013: Nominated and elected as Life Member

In addition to the above long list of accolades Peter has also contributed behind the scenes, voluntarily acting as a Manager and advisor to many players over the past 20 years and making many financial contributions to the club to ensure its success, most recently assisting the Function Centre in acquiring brand new tables in 2014.

Peter enjoyed his 65^th birthday on Sunday and celebrated with close friends and other Perth Football Club stalwarts in Melbourne: Michael & Wendy Redenbach, Doug & Julie Farrant, Vince & Vicki Pendal.

Vice Patron of the Perth Football Club are: Ted O’Connor, Damian Matthews, Steve Irons, Ben Wyatt and newly appointed Allan “Chubby” Stiles.
