Demons Sign Latch
The Perth Football Club would like to welcome Brent Latch who has signed on for the next two seasons.
Latch who comes from a basketball background only started playing football four years ago where he represented Wesley Amateurs in the Phil Scott Colts.
Such was his improvement that year that he managed to play one reserves game for Swan Districts in round 22.
Latch continued his development in 2012 at Swans where he played 16 reserves games and managed to break through for three senior games.
In 2013 Latch played seven reserves games and played three league games in the middle of the season before having to sit out the second half of the year after suffering a toe injury. Latch also played one senior game for Wesley that year under new Demons coach Earl Spalding.
In 2014 he had somewhat of a breakout year playing 16 league games for Swans and is now looking to continue that at Perth in 2015.
“I feel Perth is heading in a good direction with the new coaching staff and I’m very pleased to have signed for the club. I’m really excited to be down here.”
Latch has been brought in to play down back after the recent departures of Nick Kane and Jared Risol.
“I have had a chat with Earl (Spalding) about it and I think I am going to try and hold down a key position down back to start off with. At this moment I think Earl is pretty happy with having me in the backline.”
