Round 8 Preview Perth V East Fremantle
This week Perth travel to ATOM Stadium to take on East Fremantle.
Last week the Demons showed signs of improvement and were competitive for majority of the game. However Subiaco’s ability to use the ball better and make the most of their chances in front of goal helped them to a 36-point victory.
Aidan Tropiano (32 possessions, 5 marks) led the way again for Perth and was assisted by Brett Wolfenden (22 disposals, 6 marks, 3 I50’s, 1 goal), Brent Latch (19 possessions, 9 marks), Jarred Bell (19 disposals, 5 marks), Rowan Brookes (16 possessions, 12 marks, 5 tackles, 5 I50’s), Ashley Boyes (16 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal) and Kurtis Chester (16 possessions, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 1 goal) who were solid contributors throughout the day.
Perth (reserves) was no match for Subiaco (reserves) last week and went down by 68-points.
Liam McKenna (30 disposals, 8 marks, 10 tackles, 4 I50’s) pushed his case for an automatic recall to the league side after he was dropped for being late to a recovery session while Mitch Morton (26 possessions, 7 marks) was solid in his first game back since injury. Daniel Arangio kicked three goals and could come into the team to help solve the Demons forward line problems.
Perth (colts) continued their good form in a come from behind 22-point win against Subiaco (colts). The Demons were down by 23-points at quarter time, 22-points at half time and by 3-points heading into the last quarter.
Chapman Jones (31 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles, 4 I50’s) was excellent while Daniel Horan (28 possessions, 9 marks), John Levien (25 disposals, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 8 I50’s), Cody Ninyette (24 possessions, 6 marks, 3 tackles, 3 I50’s, 2 goals) and Ben Cable (21 disposals, 8 marks, 3 I50’s, 1 goal) also had good games.
This week all the games are on Sunday with reserves kicking things off at 9am, the league team playing at the earlier time of 11:40am and the colts rounding things out at 2:30pm.
