Round 12 Preview Perth V Claremont
Perth is back at Lathlain Park this Sunday for the first time in six weeks when they take on a red hot Claremont side who have won their past four games. This Sunday the Pyke Cup is up for grabs.
Last week the Demons fought hard but a dominant last quarter saw South Fremantle run away with a 38-point victory. The Tigers should be well rested after coming off the bye.
Mitch Andrews should come under strong consideration for a recall to the league team after spending the past two weeks in the reserves. Andrews has averaged 24.5 possessions, 8.5 marks, 3.5 tackles and 53.5 hitouts over the past fortnight. Oliver Tate is another player that could push for a league call up.
Last time these two teams met Perth notched their first and only win of the 2015 season. That day the Demons got up by nine points.
Perth is currently in ninth position on the ladder while Claremont sits in eighth position, one game outside the top five.
Last week Perth (reserves) lost by 33-points against South Fremantle (reserves).
Kane Ransted (22 disposals, 5 marks, 3 I50’s, 1 goal), Kurtis Chester (19 possessions, 7 marks, 5 I50’s, 2 goals) and Brennan Stack (3 goals) stood out in what was disappointing day for the reserves and could into the team this weekend.
Last time Perth (reserves) went down by two points in a nail bitting contest against Claremont (reserves). The Demons are in fourth position on the ladder while the Tigers are in sixth.
Perth (colts) won a closely fought contest against South Fremantle (colts) last week by one point.
Last time Perth (colts) lost by seven points to Claremont (colts) in another close game.
The Demons are in sixth position on the ladder, percentage and one win off third spot while the Tigers are second on the ladder.
The colts will this week start at the latter time of 9:15am, with the reserves kicking off at 11:45am and the league game getting underway at 2:40pm. Please also remember that all grades are playing on a SUNDAY this week.
This Sunday is also a massive day off the field with the District Parade at half time, the Grand in the Hand, Kids All in Bike Raffle, and Supporter of the Week.
