Round 14 Preview Perth V Peel Thunder
This week Perth travel down to Mandurah to take on Peel Thunder.
These sides met back in round four with the Thunder taking out the league by five points, while the Demons won the reserves and colts by 49-points and 25-points respectively.
Last week Perth lost to Swan Districts by 31-points in the league, 26-points in the reserves and 35-points in the colts while Peel had the bye.
The Demons have a good recent record when playing at Bendigo Bank Stadium, winning five of the last seven matches at the venue. Overall Perth has recorded 29 wins from 47 games there.
The Demons will have to be cautious of Peel’s Matthew De Boer who has been averaging 29 possessions, 10 tackles, 4.5 marks and 3 I50 over the last few weeks. Jacob Ballard (28 disposals, 3.5 marks, 4.5 tackles, 4.5 I50’s) has also been a dominant player in that time. The Perth backline will need to be wary of Leroy Jetta who has kicked eight goals in the last two weeks and has a total of 23 for the year.
The Demons will be looking toward Aidan Tropiano who has been averaging 32.5 possessions, 4.8 marks this season, Liam McKenna (27.4 disposals, 5.5 marks), Dene White (23 possessions, 4.4 marks, 4.6 tackles) and Michael Sinclair (21 disposals, 6 marks, 4.5 tackles) who have been strong contributors for the team in what has been a tough year so far.
The colts kick things off this Saturday at 9am with the reserves getting underway at 11:30am and the league game starting at 2:15pm.
