The Perth Football Club is mourning the death of Life Member and legendary former head trainer, Ted O’Callaghan. He was aged 101.

Ted was a trainer for 18 years, including 16 years as head trainer, a period which covered the hat trick of premierships (1966-68) under Mal Atwell as captain coach, and the 1976 premiership team coached by Ken Armstrong.

Perth’s 2018 Legend, Colin Lofts, described Ted as a “greatly respected icon” within the club.

Due to late and unavoidable changes to round three fixturing, the Demons' clash with Peel Thunder has been moved to Sunday 15th April.

Times will remain as normal, with the League game getting underway at 2:15pm, Reserves 11:30am and Colts 9:00am. All three games will be held at Rushton Park in Mandurah.

As a result, the Life Members Function (which was scheduled for this Sunday) has been postponed to Sunday 6th May.

Last Saturday’s inaugural Tackling Suicide Celebrity & Community Match has been hailed a success, with almost 2000 people turning out to help raise money and awareness for mental health in the Perth community.

$9,500 was raised on the evening, which will help fund suicide and mental health education programs, run by Outside The Locker Room, within the Perth community.
