Inaugural Tackling Suicide Match a success


Last Saturday’s inaugural Tackling Suicide Celebrity & Community Match has been hailed a success, with almost 2000 people turning out to help raise money and awareness for mental health in the Perth community.
$9,500 was raised on the evening, which will help fund suicide and mental health education programs, run by Outside The Locker Room , within the Perth community.
Sporting clubs and schools in the Perth Football Club zone will receive $1500 and $500 respectively towards the funding of Outside The Locker Room ’s 12-month program and are encouraged to email Kristi Annear at kannear@outsidethelockerroom.com.au to apply by 30 th April 2018.
Food trucks, bars, live music and kick-to-kick made for an enjoyable and family friendly evening at Lathlain Park.
On the field, Troy Cook’s Team Lifeline was too strong for Jake Edwards’ Team OTLR, running out winners by 17-points.
Courtney Ugle of the WA Football Academy was awarded best on ground for her efforts in the midfield, while Matt Moody (look away handball specialist), Ryan Crowley (too competitive), and Paul Hasleby (best outside player) showed why they were all once on AFL lists.
