Numbers Up At The Demons
The Perth Football Club has announced their jumper numbers for the 2015 McDonald’s WAFL Premiership Season with some new faces inheriting some famous numbers.
With the retirements of popular players Matthew Moody, Nick Kane and Paul Bevan there was definitely some intrigue to see which players would take over their numbers this year.
Round 1 Preview Perth V Swan Districts
Perth gets its season underway this Saturday when they take on Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval.
It will be Earl Spalding’s first game in charge of the Demons since taking over at the end of last year.
The Inaugural Hall of Fame a BIG Success
Among the thousands of members’ who have played, coached and helped administer the Perth Football Club since its inception in 1899, 35 individuals were honoured as the inaugural inductees into the Perth Demon’s Hall of Fame club on Saturday night in front of over 450 people.
A special committee spent many months selecting those 35 individuals from an initial list of 110 following a broad set of criteria, including: Individual contribution to the Perth Demons between the timeframe of 1899 – 1986; the number of games played; the quantity and calibre of any awards won - in the case of forwards, goals kicked, state representation, premierships and so on; coaching achievements; and the length and quality of the contribution to The Club at an administrative level.
Hodge Uncertain But Optimistic Heading Into New Season
Brett Hodge hasn’t played a game since round 24, 2013, the year he also won his first Butcher Medal.
Since then an ill-timed fracture of the scaphoid bone whilst snowboarding during the offseason has caused Hodge to miss the past 18 months and there is still no certainty that he will play at all this year.
Lathlain To Host Some Big Games In 2015
The fixtures for the 2015 McDonalds WAFL Premiership Season were finalised last week and there are some big games for the Perth Football Club to look forward to this year.
Some of the blockbuster games the Demons will be playing in will be when they host East Perth on ANZAC Day in round six and their now annual NAIDOC game against West Perth in round 16.
DEMONS GO DOWN TO LIONS IN PRESEASON MATCH
Reigning Premiers Subiaco easily accounted for an undermanned Perth side on Saturday at Lathlain Park. While the final score of 20 goals to 5 wasn’t too impressive from a Demon’s aspect Perth certainly showed some encouraging signs in the second half.
In warm conditions that saw both sides with plenty of rotations Perth tried plenty of new players out in various positions as they attempt to settle on a line up for their first match in Round 1 against Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval on Saturday March 21.
White Takes the Reins
The Perth Football Club is pleased to announce that Dene White will captain the club in season 2015.
White, the reigning Butcher Medallist takes over the reins from Paul Bevan, who returned to Sydney at the end of last year.

With the 2015 McDonald’s WAFL Premiership season just over two weeks away, there is still time to sign up as a member and/or sponsor of the Perth Football Club.
Currently the Demons have 606 members and would like to see this number increase before our first home game of the year against South Fremantle in round two.
Jennark Aboriginal Program - Perth Demons
The Perth Football Club has identified the need to focus on Aboriginal players within the Perth Metro District and the Perth Country Zone in order to develop talent and create ongoing opportunities within our region. The Jennark Program will be held in the April, July and December School holidays (to avoid clashes with school and other football programs) and will build in February towards the Nicky Winmar Cup Carnival and expose our talent players to Read More [+]
