Perth missed an ideal opportunity to hold on in a close finishing match at Lathlain Park on Saturday as East Fremantle kicked 3 late goals to win by 9 points.
The Demons had the first goal on the board within the first minute of play through Mitch Morton after a free kick from the centre square. Perth was looking really good early on with plenty of drive from Dene White and Cale Morton in the midfield, and Mitch Morton was on fire at Full Forward booting 3 goals in the opening 15 minutes.

As the official eye care partner of the AFL, OPSM have developed a great program to support Community Football clubs by providing cash, equipment and eye screenings. Community clubs can apply for the program via the OPSM website.
Applications must be received by Sunday 25th May.
From there, fifteen (15) clubs will be selected to receive:
- $1000 cash
- $1000 worth of equipment

Telstra has teamed up with AFL stars Chris Mayne and Marc LeCras in giving away thirty $5,000 grants through the new "Telstra Club Commitment" program, meaning a total of $150,000 will be invested into the game at a grassroots level to help support clubs across the state. Club representatives from registered local Australian football clubs are encouraged to enter for the chance to win. This week the Victoria Park Raiders Junior Football Club were visited by West Coast Eagle players Scott Lycett, Sharrod Wellingham, Dom Sheed, Adam Carter and newly appointed Perth Development Officer Chris Brown.
The Raiders players were split into groups for the night performing various training drills. This allowed the Eagles players to get around to all the groups and give them advice on how to improve their skills.

The 2014 State Academy has been released with four Perth players making it into the 16s and 18s squads. While Clem Smith’s natural talent and stellar performances with our League side and with the AIS–AFL Academy made him an obvious inclusion, the next generation of Demon’s players are progressing through the talent pathway with John Levien, Kristian Morisey and Sam Perkusich breaking into the WA16s Squad.

A fast running Subiaco side clearly showed why they are on top of the WAFL ladder as they out ran Perth for much of the day to run out winners by 34 points at Lathlain Park on Saturday.
Perth Captain Paul Bevan won the toss and kicked to the northern end of the ground. It was the Lions though that kicked the first goal through Simon Moore in the opening minute of play. In a fast paced match small forward Joel Leeson booted the Demon’s first major at the 8 minute mark.
